Dehumanizing

Dear all of my friends. How was your day? A lil reminder, don’t forget to have your meals and have a strength.

So, I wanna talk about dehumanizing. Why?

Because I see a lot of people who see others who have a different identity (such as RELIGION, PREFERENCES, IDEOLOGY, GENDERS, RACES, PRINCIPLE OR ANYTHING THAT DEFINED EACH OF US) are doing dehumanizing by canceling them right away.

“Ok she has a nice idea but she is from different religion, so just ignore her.”

“Ah dia berbeda sama golongan kita. What they say isn’t really matter tho, what matters is just about our community. Only.” Ouch, see? Love is blind.

It’s really okay and fine if we have our own preferences/principle/value, I have it too, as it should. But just don’t degrade others.

Jangan sampai kepercayaan/identity kita malah mengarahkan kita ke dehumanizing. Because after all, setelah kita melepaskan segala atribut yang melekat pada diri kita, we are all human. So if there’s someone who suffering –apapun identitasnya- lets help them, lets support each other.

Jangan sampai identitas kita mengarahkan kita ke –semakin tidak menjadi manusia-

Jangan kita pakai 'mentalitas kita vs mereka'.

Jangan kita merasa paling benar. Sampai memandang rendah yang lain.

Jangan memandang rendah orang yang berbeda organisasi/afiliasi. Because I see some people are “Ah dia dari komunitas ini, canceled. I don’t like them.” Okay you have a choice to hate them. But really? Hate? For just having a different principle while they never harm you directly and indirectly?” Think about that.

 

IMO, tidak semua manusia fit into the principle/concept that exists in this world even this world isn’t really a fit place even what I'm talking about right now, I believe not everyone will do humanizing each other. There are always flaws. There’s always yin and yang. There’s always good and bad. There’s always war and peace. But that is not an excuse for us to be better at treating each other. Just do our best, such as educating ourselves to understand about each other. To start hearing and supporting people who have different identities.

And every person punya reason tersendiri, punya pengalaman sense yang berbeda ketika memilih sebuah prinsip/identity.

Everybody is a unique individual.

Tidak semua orang sama sepertimu yang menganggap bahwa prinsip yang kamu pegang adalah benar.

Dunia ini juga ada orang yang menganggap “Hah? Kok dia bisa percaya dengan prinsip ini?” sama seperti kamu terheran-heran dengan prinsip yang orang lain pegang.

Dunia ini bukan hanya tentangmu dan komunitasmu.

Dunia ini bukan hanya tentang prinsip dan value yang kamu pegang saja.

Tapi, yang pasti, dunia ini adalah tentang kita sebagai manusia, bersama di tempat yang sama.

 

And because...

Honestly, I don’t see the bad in being nice to everyone, whatever their races/genders/appearances/religions are. As long as you’re nice to me, then I’d the same. 

And the last thing is; other people preferences and private life are their own business to take care of. Unless they asked you to help them, so don’t pull yourself into that. It is called privacy for a reason, love.
